FRIAR TARGET: QUADRI MOORE
Moore listed scholarship offers from Marquette, Auburn, Temple, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Providence. He added that UConn is also showing interest in him.
The 6-foot-8 prospect from Linden (NJ) does "not really" have any favorites at this point in time.
Moore said there are no schools in particular that are pursuing him more vigorously than the rest right now.
"All the schools that offered me, [they are] basically equal, coming at me the same way," Moore said.
The rising senior has been on unofficial visits to Temple and Seton Hall thus far. He has no other trips scheduled.
"Not yet," Moore said of whether he has thought about where he would like to visit. "So, I'm not sure yet."
Moore said that he does "not really" have a timetable for a commitment. Additionally, he has yet to decide if he wants to sign early or late.
"I most likely will know [that] after the Live Period," Moore said.
The big man also said that despite all that, there is a chance that he will also know after the Live Period where he wants to attend college. He also discussed just what it is that he is looking for in a school.
"A good program based around good people, like family-type," Moore said. "Good academics [as well]. Location doesn't really matter for me."
Moore also spent some time talking about Providence, beginning with discussing his offer from the Friars.
"They did [offer me] a while ago, but I haven't talked to them in a while," Moore said.
As for when he last spoke with the PC staff, Moore said, "It's been a long time, I'm not sure."
The Garden State prospect went on to share whether or not Providence is a school that he would be interested in.
"It would be because I'm still open in my recruitment," Moore said. "I'm open to any schools right now."
Moore went on to share just what it is that he knows about the Providence program at this point in time.
"I don't really know that much," Moore began, "but I know that they're uprising and they're going to become a good program in couple years, if not next year."
The four-star recruit went on to provide his thoughts on Providence head coach Ed Cooley.
"I met him a couple times," Moore said. "He seems like he's a good guy. He seems like a good coach too."
Moore said that he has had the opportunity to watch PC play "a couple of games" and discussed whether he thinks he would fit in with the Friars' style of play.
"I think they're a good program and I could fit in well there if I was to go there," Moore said.
In addition to talking recruiting, Moore also talked about the type of player that he is on the court, starting with his main forte.
"Well, obviously shooting, but everybody knows that," Moore said. "So, there's always room for improvement and I've been working in the gym on being more explosive to get up and get rebounds and my ball handling."
As for his primary area of weakness, Moore remarked, "I'd say perimeter defense, which I've been working on for a long time and it's coming along, but it's not something that you master in just a short period of time."
Moore also talked about what it was like to be at the Reebok Breakout Classic.
"It's a good experience," Moore said. "[There are] a lot of good players, a lot of them, and it's a lot of good competition. So, everybody gets to try and see what they do."
