PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers handed Connecticut a loss when the teams last meet but has not won a road game against the Huskies in close to 40 years. Coming off two straight losses and a poor performance from leading scorer Eli Carter, Rice discussed the need to win now and get back to .500.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers needs leading scorer Elijah Carter back on form, said head coach Mike Rice.

Whether it is making the open shots or creating for teammates, Carter is in a funk after his 1-for-14 game against St. John's. Facing Connecticut after falling to 3-4 in Big East play, Rice spoke to the media about the need to respond.
